Socialist Modernism in Bulgaria, 1955–1989
by Dumitru Rusu – B.A.C.U. Association
The seventh volume of the Socialist Modernism series presents 80 landmarks of socialist modernist architecture in Bulgaria, organised by function into six sections. A map at the beginning of the book shows the location of every building.
In colour photographs, the B.A.C.U. Association explains the socialist modernist tendencies of the period and presents a functional image of each building and its often original elements, which synthesise local culture and traditions, together with its current state of conservation.
