BACU Association and U Tours are jointly coordinating a six-day research study tour through Moldova, dedicated to the critical examination of socialist modernist architecture and its associated monumental art traditions. The programme encompasses major urban centres — Chișinău, Ungheni, Bălți, Nisporeni, Cahul, Hâncești and Yaloveni — as well as the Soviet-era Sports Camp at Condrița and the region’s forest landscapes.
Notable sites include the State Circus in Chișinău, the first site listed by BACU, along with the mosaic murals of mass housing developments, Hotel Național (BACU’s second listed site), and Hotel Cosmos. The tour also covers the extensive network of Moldovan bus stations built along the Moscow Olympic road as part of the Olympic flame route. BACU’s heritage listing specialists provide architectural interpretation, on-site documentation, and heritage assessment guidance throughout, while U Tours ensures comprehensive logistical support.
